However, this is not "your average church service".  Haven't you ever wanted to raise your hand in the middle of a minister's speech and ask a question?  We encourage discussion on our topics.  This is not a situation where we are the teachers and you are the students.  We are all students together.   It may remind you more of a "small group" experience at a large church, rather than the regular church service itself.   Feel free to bring along a drink or a snack, and toss a lawn chair in your car because if it's nice we'll probably wind up outside.

 

Please note, this is not a debate.  It's not an argument.  It is not an opportunity to win someone over to your way of thinking.  The dialogue that occurs should allow you to explore, develop, and focus *your own* beliefs.  Please respect that everyone else is doing the same.  While we are on the same path for now, we may not wind up at the same destination.  Mutual respect is critical to the survival of the Journey Assembly.  No one should ever feel emotionally unsafe, attacked, or belittled.  Those who cannot maintain an acceptable level of respect for others will be asked to leave the Assembly.
